The activities of the Horizon Lanka Academy mostly depend on contributions from donors around the globe. It charges a nominal fee from the students. The amount collected is only sufficient for the payment of the transport, electricity and water bills. Books

Horizon Lanka Academy has a small informally-run library. The academy has planned to expand it with more books on English language skills, computer skills, world history, encyclopedias, short stories, novels and other books required for teaching the specified syllabuses.

Equipment

The HLA seeks the help of interested donors worldwide to find the major capital input requirements as well as exhaustible quality input requirements that are necessary for the academy during the academic year 2005.

Scholarships to students

The HLA has a scheme of providing scholarships to selected students whose academic performance is satisfactory despite their poor family income levels. This is called “MicroScholarships”. Currently about 30 students get these scholarships with the help of our donors worldwide. We have a few more students in the waiting list. Therefore, interested donors can contribute to the “MicroScholarships” scheme. Workshops

The HLA annually organizes workshops in various topic areas in the curriculum as well as extracurricular activities. These workshops are conducted with the voluntary participation of expert resource personnel in various fields. If any such person or organization is interested in helping the HLA with his expert knowledge, the HLA requests such them to arrange it by contacting us.

Sports

The HLA wishes to engage its students in as much sports activities as possible during their stay at the HLA. We have equipment for hardball cricket, volleyball, soccer, rugby, badminton, etc. Therefore, the HLA requests interested organizations or individuals to contact us if they wish to help the HLA sporting activities. You can help us by providing us equipment and holding training camps.
