We, The HorizonLanka Academy teachers, students and well-wishers launch the first and only Virtual Academy by a Sri Lankan educational institute. The Sri Lankan government and Education Ministry has launched a timely and vital project to provide computer facilities and Internet access to all the school in the country. However other than learning ICT related skills students have very little opportunity in using those computers for other academic activities. This is due to two reasons; although they have Internet access most learning material on the Internet does not matches with the local curriculum and the second reason is none of the contents in the Internet supports local languages (either Sinhala or Tamil). There are few local language based learning material but none of them are freely available.

Therefore our objective is to share our knowledge, resources and experiences specially among the Sri Lankan students. We mainly focus on the Sri Lankan O/L (Ordinary Level) and A/L (Advanced Level) curriculum however some of the lessons may be useful to international students and teachers as well. All the lessons in this web site are freely downloadable.
